Our position, not far from Bergen and between Hardangerfjorden and Sognefjorden, gives us an unike possibility to offer various activities and experiences in beautiful surroundings. The hotel is set in a superb position, overlooking the lake. The facade, with its towers and pointed dormer windows, is reminiscent of Switzerland. Built in 1889 and still run by the Fleischers, the hotel has been discreetly modernised without losing its original charm. There is a warm ambience in the foyer with its convival and elegant salons. Delicious food including local fish and Norwegian specialities is served in the restaurant with it warm colour scheme.
Classical, elegant architecture characterises both the hotels interior and the exterior. The hotel was built in 1928, and parts of it are subject to a preservation order under the Cultural Heritage Act. After busy days seeing the sights of Bergen, we recommend a visit to our Wellbeing Centre, where you can enjoy a relaxing jacuzzi, sauna and solarium. In one of Bergen's most splendid bars, the Grand Whisky Bar, you can settle down in front of the fire with the day's papers, something to drink and a tempting meal from our Bar menu. We offer accommodation in 131 rooms of various sizes and standards. Its location near three multi storey car parks, the railway station, airport bus and the bus station means that the hotel is very accessible, and its a mere seven minutes walk to The Fishmarket.
