Historie
Casa Ciolina is a charming, luxurious residence situated in the foothills of ‘de Kempen’, a rural area in the Belgian province of Limburg close to Peer and Hasselt. The 19th-century premises were formerly a soap factory and have recently been converted into a magnificent farmhouse with an inner courtyard. Although Casa Ciolina was originally a so-called ‘Teutenhuis’, which refers to a place where travelling salesmen from the region used to congregate, this location is a delightful experience for any kind of traveller. Casa Ciolina, owned by Maria and her originally Italian husband Enrico Ciolina, is a welcome breath of fresh air for anyone who enjoys subdued luxury.
Accomodations and prices
Even though Casa Ciolina’s interior forms a harmonious entity, the owners strived to give each of their six charming guest rooms an individual character through the use of furniture and accessories. Four spacious rooms are located on the first floor. Dinner is prepared on request, primarily on weekends, but there is also a choice of good restaurants in the vicinity. Transport can be arranged, if desired. Casa Ciolina’s Jachtkamer (Hunting Room) can be used for special occasions. Breakfast is served in the stylish area that leads to the cosy living room. Hot and cold drinks are available all day long in the small guest kitchen. The old, spacious stable has been converted into a very luxurious wellness centre with a sauna and delightfully warm swimming pool.
From EUR 120.00 per room, based on double occupancy, including breakfast.
Historie
The Pietersheim Castle in Lanaken, was built in the early 20th century as a hunting lodge in neoclassical style, just outside the old castle site built. The former castle burned down and on the ruins of it, the present castle was built in the early twenties, in the same neoclassical style. The Pietersheim castle is now one of the five entrances to the National Park ‘Hoge Kempen’. A rich wildlife area where you van walk or cycle, as much as you please.
The castle has been completely renovated in its own original style. The rooms were renovated in 2008. Each room has it’s separate exclusive look, where you can relax and unwind, both private or business, in ‘Kreamat’-beds.
In our restaurant you can admire the fully renovated ‘waterburcht ruine’. You can also meet your corporate clients in style or organize the wedding of your dreams in our Merode-room.
Accommodations and prices
We have 15 rooms on two different floors. Each room has its own style of design, form and composition of furniture. Price for a single room is Euro 80.00 per room per night, bed and breakfast.
Historie
Hidden in the folds of the Limburg countryside lies this 17th century farm in an opulence of space and silence. Until 1969 the farm was part of the castle complex of Wijer. Thereafter it stayed unoccupied for 28 years up to the day that Tessa and Erik Feldhaus van Ham purchased it to carry out their ambitious plan to restore this ruin by their own hands and to bring it back to life.
Accommondations:
Today part of the property has been transformed into an attractive and hospitable Country House with 6 bedrooms, a dining room, a library, a tower room and a spacious kitchen where Tessa conjures up heavenly dishes from her AGA cooker with biological ingredients from their own vegetable and herb gardens.
The Kerckhem offers a perfect retreat from which one can undertake various activities in the region. There are an extensive cycle route network, beautiful trails, various golf courses and weekly antique markets in the cozy towns just around the corner.
The stylish guest rooms are a great point of departure from where to venture out on a bike trip or hike through the surrounding Haspengouw area, or go on a garden tour, search for antiques at local flea markets, or enjoy a round of golf on one of the local courses nearby. Or would you rather read a book under an apple tree? Relax and enjoy yourself.
