BOOKING
The country house mill, (Landhaus Mühle), a 500-year-old house, typically for the Black Forest region lies in a high valley at the eastern side of the lake Schluchsee. The former mill originally supplied the famous Benedictine monastery of St. Blasien. The brook that used to drive the mill-wheel is still plashing, passing the terrace and through the adjoining meadows into the valley and down to the lake. The former living rooms in the courtyard of the mill were converted to comfortable salons by the hosts. The „Old Snuggery“ became the living room of the country house, which invites you to jointly watch TV, play games or to read a book. The breakfast is served in the „Oven Snuggery“ and the „Old Kitchen“ turned into a retreat area for smokers. The rooms which are all arranged homelike in country-house style and situated under a broad hip roof invite you to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing stay. From the spacious balconies, richly adorned with flowers, one can have a marvelous look over the surrounding area, the valley and lake Schluchsee. Rolf Pochert and Katja Nowak spoil their guests with their fine rustic cooking and a choice of dishes usual in this region or inspired by mediterranean cooking, served on a roomy and sunny terrace or in the restaurant with its fireplace right in the middle of the room. The hosts have created a refuge with much effort and taste within only few years, as one otherwise only experiences in houses which have grown over several generations. Both look after their guests in a pleasant, familiar atmosphere which makes relaxing of the usual weekday hectic easy and encourages for coming back.
