Pride of Britain Hotels is a collection of 35 of the finest privately owned hotels in Britain. The consortium was formed in 1982 to enable like-minded hoteliers to reach a wider domestic and international audience. Membership is limited to a maximum of 50 properties, and it is the members themselves who decide whether a new applicant is suitable to belong to the consortium, following anonymous inspection and a vote.
Many of the hotels in Pride of Britain are country houses, some with state of the art spa facilities and all in beautiful areas of the country. There are two London hotels: The Goring and The Sloane Square. If you appreciate historic buildings that have been restored to their original glory please ask about Hartwell House, Middlethorpe Hall and Bodysgallen Hall. Our oldest is The Priory at Wareham on the coast of Dorset in Southern England – it was a nunnery some 1,300 years ago.
