An old 15th century building full of charm and character, Auberge De Campveerse Toren is located in the historical fortified town of Veere. In 1575, William of Orange and his bride Charlotte de Bourbon held their wedding banquet here. The hotel is situated on lake Veere right on the marina, where the ‘whisper’ boats leave for delightful trips across lake Veere. The hotel’s terrace is paved with original cobblestones and the ideal place to enjoy a drink or a snack. Veere itself is a beautifully preserved historical town. The hotel offers guided tours of the town. Nearby are many equestrian and hiking trails. There are boats available to rent. A cruise on lake Veere, from the hotel’s doorstep, is certainly worth it. The lake is suitable for swimming. A trip to the Oosterschelde Dam and its work station Neeltje Jans is highly recommended. The region of Walcheren has many sea-side resorts with wonderful beaches.
