The castle is set on an island in the River Dommel (Buildig 15th century)
Hendrik van Maurick , whose name lives on in Kasteel Maurick, was a genuine medieval knight from the Dutch province of Gelderland. Two impressive portraits painted by Rembrandt in 1632 once adorned the castle walls. To see the originals, you will now have to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, but two excellent reproductions hang in Kasteel Maurick’s hall. The castle is set in woodland on an island in the River Dommel. The bridal suite and the castle suites are tastefully furnished in contemporary style. The lush garden facing the river is the ideal venue for a wedding reception. The courtyard terrace offers fabulous views over the enchanting garden. Kasteel Maurick is only 10 minutes by car from Den Bosch, Epicurean Capital of the Brabant Province and close to National Park De Loonse en Drunense Duinen. Golf Club De Dommel one of Holland’s most prestigious golf courses, is also nearby.
