Rederiet Hotell – the only hotel in the heart of Farsund – tempts quality-conscious guests with exquisite guest rooms, à la carte restaurant and bar. It boasts a fantastic location with views over the mansion known as ‘Husan’and Farsund's historic harbour.
The building which houses Rederiet Hotell dates from the mid-1950s, when shipowner Andrew Glastad built new offices for Mosvolds Rederi in the contemporary Functionalist style. The shipping business remained here until the end of the 1990s, when the building was converted into a hotel. A few years later, the neighbouring Reymerts hus – one of the oldest houses in Farsund – was purchased and incorporated into the hotel.
Today Rederiet Hotell offers accommodation in 17 comfortable guest rooms to meet most requirements, including suites and family rooms. The 12 guest rooms in the shipping company building bear the stamp of the maritime history of Mosvolds Rederi and its owners. Reymerts hus has five exquisite guest rooms representing the age of the privateers and sailing ships, each named after one of the town's privateer ships.
