Renvyle house is a family owned historic country house hotel, situated in the wild splendour of Connemara on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Way.
The hotel is located on a 150 acre estate which includes a private freshwater lake, 1km of beach on the Atlantic, woodlands, orchards, gardens and kitchen gardens.
Over several centuries, Renvyle House has been built, pulled down, rebuilt, burned to ashes and rebuilt once again. A Chieftain of one of the oldest and most powerful Gaelic clans in Connacht once lived here in the 12th Century. It was also the home of poet, statesman and surgeon Oliver St. John Gogarty (Buck Mulligan of James Joyce's "Ulysses") and, since becoming a country house hotel in 1883, Renvyle House has played host to many famous people - Augustus John, Lady Gregory, Yeats and Churchill among them.

Our Executive Chef, Tim O'Sullivan, is an award winning chef and has previously won Best Chef in Connacht at the National Food & Wine Awards. The hotel has its own kitchen gardens and orchards and features a wide range of Irish and Continental cuisine with Irish Beef, Connemara Lamb and locally caught fish. Max. capacity: 120 persons

Renvyle House Hotel is also an authorised wedding venue for Humanist and Civil Ceremonies and can host your entire day.
Every tiny detail will be looked after for you by our Wedding and Banqueting Manager, which leaves you time to catch up with friends and family and enjoy your special celebration.
In fact the poet, W.B. Yeats and his wife came on their honeymoon to Renvyle House in the Autumn of 1917 and returned to stay many times afterwards. Max. capacity: 120 persons
We have a choice of three meeting / conference rooms. Seating theatre style from 30 to 120. We work closely with a local adventure centre for teambuilding or corporate retreats. Max. capacity: 120 persons
